4x4 Chrome Steel Wheel Cover for Land Rover Discovery & Freelander - Spare Tire Accessory

I purchased this steel wheel cover to protect the personalised wheel cover I had previously bought for my wife. After paying for it on Amazon, you get an email from BargainWheelCovers asking for your tyre size. After that (about two days later and well ahead of the scheduled arrival date) it arrived. That was this morning. In a hurry, we tried to put it on and thought it was the wrong size, so later I rang them and spoke with an incredibly helpful chap called Martin who patiently talked me through where I was going wrong (seriously - a child could fit one of these things, I'm embarrassed to say). Anyway, I re-fitted the cover following Martin's advice and had no problems doing so. Excellent service all 'round, and the wheel looks superb (wife is delighted!). Good value, incidentally (it's a quality piece of kit). Also, it isn't blue - that's just the protective skin they put on them for transit! If you want a steel wheel cover (or, indeed, any other type) I can wholeheartedly recommend BargainWheelCovers.

Let me say from the start how fantastic my Landrover Discovery Freelander TD Steel wheel cover looks on my Land Rover Discovery TD5 When I first placed the order and received it, I did initially have some fitting problems: it did not fit! The latter was not the fault of the supplier, it was the type of tyre I had... The size on the side of the tyre read 255/65/R16 straight forward enough I thought? How wrong I was? I had not taken into account that my tyre was one of those special sports type: wide thick and bulky; There was nothing on the wall of the tyre that indicated the latter... I rechecked the tyre and noticed another number before the size mentioned above that read: 106T and M+S that followed it; These additional details may not have had any bearing on the size but I thought I had better mention it...I emailed the company with a picture of my tyre via Amazon explaining that the steel rim, did not fit...Their engineers re-examined there tyre size chart and identified that I needed a much bigger trim size: I needed tyre size No 7 and 11 B The company have over 254 sizes in stock. They arranged a replacement delivery which arrived within two days and to collect the one that did not fit. Some tips you might find of use: 1 Make sure when ordering you give them the correct tyre details 2 Read the instruction leaflet for fitting 3 Leave the protective wrapping on until the cover has been installed on the wheel Note: If you need to rest the trim on anything, rest it on a piece of carpet or towel to prevent damaging the wrapping either by scratching or denting the steel trim. 4 Have a dry run without the plastic disc... For ease of the final fitting of the disc go through the installation procedures. lift the steel trim onto the wheel with the locking mechanism facing towards the 4 or 8 o-clock position depending if you are right or left handed and locate the hooked threaded bar of the lock into one of the many slots on the metal strap on the other half of the trim and then pull over the the key half of the lock which will draw the two halves together for locking Note: The hooked threaded bar from the key barrel has a limited range of adjustment; if you tighten it too much you won't be able to rotate the key barrel locking plate into the cut out slot at the base of the threaded bar, also it will put a strain on the rivets that secures the locking mechanism to the steel trim and damage it. When you are satisfied with the secured fit, slacken the lock with the hook still located in one of the slots of the strap, you made need to drop back an extra slot or two to allow the edge of the disc to slide behind the edge of the trim. When the disc is safely behind the lip of the trim, reposition the hooked bar into the appropriate slot again and close the lock...Finally rotate the wheel cover until the opening is facing down to allow rain water to drain away. You can now remove the protective wrapping from the steel cover. To get a grip off the edge of the wrapping, just pull back the edging strip of the steel cover a little 5 The only downside I had in my case with this larger wheel cover is not being able to position the bulky key lock at the bottom of the wheel to allow for drainage; the raised key barrel causes the barrel to snag the top surface of the rear bumper when closing the back door, so I have had to rotate the cover a little to clear the barrel. I can live with that. 6 If you plan to have a logo put on the plastic disc and you have not removed the protective cover, make sure it is removed otherwise the logo may blister and or peel off! I am very pleased with my shiny steel wheel cover it complements the logo I have on it and the Discovery On a final note I would like to compliment the customer services staff at BARGAINWORLDUk the company has benefitted from the enthusiastic way they have dealt with my order and I thank them for that... sorry for late reply as this item was a xmas prezzie and i wasnt allowed to see it until the big day.Fitted it yesterday 29/12/16 and as it says in the instructions make sure it fits before taking off protective film.Mine does fit perfectly and looks really smart,added some Landy stickers and im really pleased

Looks amazing on the wife's freelander shes wanted one for ages bought for her birthday back in November still looks good first fitting was a little fiddley but when you have it adjusted properly it fits perfectly took us 15 mins the first fit
